The Gallery 1001 community of artists is pleased to offer summer classes for the Winfield community in conjunction with Winfield Arts and Humanities Council.
Gallery artists have selected a summer theme utilizing the contemporary art form of boxcar graffiti. A class for adults will study graffiti art history, style and techniques. Students will collaborate to design and paint a graffiti mural which will be displayed on the north-facing wall of the gallery throughout the summer.
Instructor Maggie Bicker, well-known for her detailed murals around Winfield, will lead the class. Sessions begin May 21 and run through the month of June.

Artists of all ages are invited to participate in another project with the boxcar graffiti theme. Model boxcar blanks will be available to anyone who wishes to design and decorate a model with their chosen message and color scheme. After decorating, budding artists will return the models for display at the gallery through the month of August.
A class for beginning hammer dulcimer players is available at Gallery 1001 in two sessions.
